LEARN ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Project

College and career readiness, reimagined.

Pursue Your It, Inc. is a nonprofit established in 2016 to promote college and career readiness, starting with late-elementary students through high school. The program works best for students ages twelve through twenty-one.

It's aligned to New York State's social and emotional learning benchmarks — building self-awareness, self-management, interpersonal skills, and ethical decision-making that carry students well beyond the classroom.

The Process

The Nail. The Mirror. The Seed.

Cindy Miller shares her story of resilience on the way to becoming one of the best teachers in the game of golf — then reveals "The It Box" and challenges students to pursue their own It.

Step One

The Nail

Exposure starts in a group setting — a school assembly, meeting room, or gymnasium. Cindy tells her story of tenacity and determination, then hands students the first tool: understanding what motivates them to act.

Step Two

The Mirror

Students who choose to participate complete online behavior, motivation, and learning style assessments — an honest look at who they are and what they bring.

Step Three

The Seed

An eight-week course, delivered online, turns insight into action. At the end, every school holds a graduation ceremony — the seed planted, now growing.

Follow Up

Staying with It, for the whole journey.

Once a student completes the program, the work isn't over. Student Ambassadors stay in the field, building long-lasting relationships with every student who graduates — because our mission is to help them stay with "It" for life.

Purpose

Everyone has talent.

It's up to each individual to learn about themselves — their motivation, their personal behavior style, and what fires them up about life. When they take the time to do that, they become far more willing to work toward their goals.

Passion

It all starts with "Why."

Why are you here? What do you want? How will you get "It"? Are you willing to work? If so — let's do this.

Possibilities

"It" can be found.

Once you take the time to be introspective and learn who you really are, there are endless possibilities for a more fulfilling life.

Where Have We Been?

Making a difference, school by school.

Our programs have reached the Buffalo Promise Neighborhood, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County, Silver Creek Central School, Martin Road Elementary in Lackawanna, Cleveland Hill Middle School, and South Buffalo Charter School.

We're on a mission to make a difference in the life of every child, everywhere. Will you help us make that happen?
